Gisela Riedel
Frau Riedel hat Mathematik an der Martin-Luther-Universität studiert und war nach ihrem Abschluss zunächst als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin in der Abteilung Numerik des Instituts für Mathematik und anschließend im Rechenzentrum unserer Alma Mater tätig. 1991 wechselte sie in das neu gegründete Institut für Informatik und übernahm dort die Leitung der Rechnerbetriebsgruppe. Sie war in dieser Position maßgeblich am Aufbau des Instituts für Informatik und an der Entwicklung der technischen Infrastruktur beteiligt. Hervorzuheben ist auch ihr Einsatz bei der Planung und dem Umzug des Instituts in das neue Gebäude am Von-Seckendorff-Platz.
Wir haben Frau Riedel als sehr engagierte und zuverlässige, stets hilfsbereite und freundliche Mitarbeiterin schätzen gelernt. Ihr Wirken und ihre Persönlichkeit werden dauerhaft im Bewusstsein unseres Instituts verankert bleiben.
Den Hinterbliebenen sprechen wir unser tiefempfundenes Mitgefühl aus.

Ceremony at the University of Halle: Dr Marcus Pöckelmann receives his doctoral certificate
On 26 April 2025, Martin Luther University held its 2025 ceremony. During the event, Dean Prof Dr Müller-Hannemann presented Dr Marcus Pöckelmann with his doctoral certificate. Marcus Pöckelmann received his doctorate in June 2024 with a topic at the interface between computer science and the text-based humanities. The title of his dissertation was ‘On LERA and the realisation of essential requirements for digital tools for collating different text versions of a work’.
